3 WAYS TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IN 2022

If you make a goal for yourself and write it down that does not mean that it will magically happen, especially if it is a bigger goal. It is helpful to write out goals - to get them from your head and heart and onto paper - but if we are not taking small steps daily, weekly, and monthly to achieve our goals, they will never happen. For me, I love making a lot of lists: daily to-do lists, dreams lists, goals lists, and brain dump lists. In my past experience, after I make all my lists, I sometimes completely forgot that I made them. They will sit on my desk or in closed journals for months, never to be looked at again. So this year, I decided to take a different approach to my goals. I am trying out three different ways to achieve my goals this year: a vision board, a long-term dreams photo wall, and several small goals to achieve my overall 2022 goals.
Vision Board
The first step to creating a vision board is to first create your goals for your year. Then, get yourself a corkboard, find photos that reflect your goals on Pinterest, print them out, get some cute push pins, and go to town by hanging up those photos on your board. The goal is for the end result to be something that you will look at it through the week, reminding you to work at your goals. It is helpful to include your word of the year, your Bible verse for the year, and encouraging quotes that will help you when you want to give up.
“Dreams” Photo Wall
Find some photos off of Pinterest that visualize all your long-term life goals and print them off. Then create a photo wall so that you can look at this wall and remember where you want to go in life. This will visually inspire you to continue to work on your long-term dreams that you envision for yourself.
Create smaller steps for your big goals
With your 2022 goals, list each goal and ask yourself, ”How will I achieve this goal? What will I do daily, weekly, or monthly to take steps to make this goal happen? What do I need to buy or invest in for this goal?” Answer these questions and under the big goal, write out small steps that you will take to achieve that goal. Also, put into your calendar a day once-a-week to check-in with your goals, to remind you to work on the specific small steps for each of the goals you’ve made.
It is so inspiring and helpful to see a visual reminder of your goals and see them hanging up everyday in your room. Ultimately, what will happen or not happen is in God’s hands. I firmly believe that He puts good desires and dreams for our future in our hearts. If we follow God, seek the guidance of His Word, and work diligently toward our dreams and goals, He will help and strengthen us to achieve the right ones! What are your dreams and goals for 2022?
