Disclaimer: This blog post series is primarily but not exclusively going out to my female readers. Just a quick disclaimer though. I am not a nutritionist, doctor, medical professional, or psychologist. I am just a girl with my own story and I wanted to share my heart and what I have learned and I hope it helps you. I believe as soon as we speak up about hard topics, it can not only help our struggles but it can encourage others. Speak up about what you are passionate about and share your opinions with others. You never know the impact you could have. If you are struggling with your body image, please talk to a trusted person. If you are struggling with an eating disorder, please do not be afraid to reach out for help. Know that as soon as you see an issue in your life and get the help that you need, things can being to get better. I love you guys and I hope this post blesses you!

It can be hard to love your body for where it is at with social media and its culture of unrealistic beauty standards being pushed everywhere we look I will be honest with you. I still struggle with this consistently. I know that God created me fearfully and wonderfully but I do not believe this most days. One day, I am not worried about where I am at with my body image while other days I completely despise my body. There are times I look into the mirror and I think to myself, “Wow, I look so beautiful today!” And other times a loud negative voice in my mind pushes the thought of “ Oh my gosh, I look awful. I need to do this or that to look more beautiful.”

I know that the journey to see my body image in a positive way and be more kind to my mind is a difficult and continuous journey. As soon as I noticed I struggled with my body image and admitted it was not healthy, things began to change. As soon as we become aware of our body image struggles and put them into the light, they will heal and get better. We grow and change in many ways in every season in life and so does our body. So come along with me as I tell you my personal journey in learning to love how God created my body.

Thank you so much for reading part one of my series on the topic of body image. Part two will be coming this time next week!
