My Three Goals from 2021

In my last blog post, I talked about the events of 2021. Now onto what my goals were for 2021: create my tiny house, eat healthily, and read the Bible in two years. I would say these goals were started but all of them were not completed. I often set very big goals for myself. I start strong and then I meet hardships and ultimately give up. I am learning I must work on goals slowly over time, go step by step, see my mistakes, and learn from them.
For my first goal, I wanted to redo a shed and create a tiny house out of it. I started this project very strong but this goal is not complete. I did some tasks by myself to improve the tiny house while in other tasks I sought professional help. The most valuable thing I learned from this project was that I can learn new skills. I can dream big and make something ordinary into something beautiful. It’s okay to not know how to do something and ask for help.
My second goal was to eat healthily and this goal was hard. I generally eat more on the healthy side with my dietary restrictions of gluten and dairy but I wanted to eat more clean overall. I am still working on this but I have definitely grown in it. With this goal, I am learning it is a daily decision to eat healthily but it is also okay to have days where you eat something more fun. I want to take care of my body and continue to eat in a healthy manner but I also know that life is short and you only live once so go ahead and eat that cookie!
Goal number three was to finish the Bible in two years. In 2021, I began a plan that I did not personally enjoy but read about a fourth of the Bible. My plan in 2022 is to finish reading the Bible in a year by using the One Year NIV Bible (Tyndale). I know that each time I read any part of the Bible, I will learn something new about God. That is so exciting to look forward to!
Thank you for reading part two of my series on 2021 and 2022 goals and dreams. Part three will be coming to my blog on the 24th of January.
